Grand Circus of the Capital

The City Park (Városliget in Hungarian) is packed with things to do and places to see. The Central Europe's one and only permanent circus building hosts not only circus performances, but also concerts, fashion shows, and sports events, as well as theatre, operette, and dance performances.

The Grand Circus, located in the City Park (Városliget), has been entertaining people for over 100 years. On 7th May 1891 German-Dutch ringmaster, Ede Wulff, opened with a world metropolis gala; the iron-framed structure covered with corrugated sheet was erected by Wulff. Dismantled in 1966, this earlier structure had the same dimensions as today's building, though it sat an audience of 2,290. The present building, sitting 1,850, opened its doors in 1971.
